The Czech Craft Shop located on Third Street in Wilber, Nebraska, in the
center of the business district, makes and sells Czech costumes. The volunteers
still hand-embroider the beautiful patterns on the vests, blouses and aprons.
They also make several colors of skirts and aprons. They have long sleeve
and short sleeve shirts and vests for men. Dolls dressed in authentic Czech
costumes with beautiful embroidery are available as well. The shop also
features hand embroidered tea towels, t-shirts, magnets, notecards, ethnic
cookbooks, ethnic coloring books and original design chinaware.
Many items feature Czech sayings and the dancing or kissing Czech couple.
The shop, staffed entirely by volunteers, is open from 1:00-4:00 p.m. every
day from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The winter schedule is Saturday afternoons
from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The Czech Craft Shop is the only place to buy genuine
Nebraska Czech handcrafts.
