Friskies Pet Care Company, Crete, Nebraska

Construction of the Crete ALPO Facility began in 1964. In August of 1965, the first cans of ALPO dog food began rolling off the production line. ALPO Petfoods was sold to Nestle on December 30, 1994. Shortly thereafter, the name of the company was changed to Friskies Pet Care.

The Friskies PetCare Company located in Crete, Nebraska produces ALPO canned cat and dog products, treat products for dogs, as well as producing some Friskies canned products. In 1969, ALPO started thier own can making operation at the Crete location. The Crete facility also has a distribution center which distributes products from the easter Illinois border to all points south and west of that area.

The Crete facility employees 340 employees producing products on three shifts.
